Tampa Bay Health Care Landscape: The Road Ahead

March 23 @ 7:00 am - 10:00 am

BREAKFAST OF CHAMPIONS

Our event speaker, Jim Jacobsohn, Vice President, Sg2, is a professional that specializes in areas such as marketing, insurance payment model redesign, billing and coding, regulations and compliance and healthcare standards.  Mr. Jacobsohn will look beyond the headlines to explore the short and long-term ramifications of important topics such as consumerism, shift to value, narrow networks and policy updates.

Emerging issues and trends in healthcare are identified annually and affect us on a national, statewide and local level .  Healthcare is a highly regulated industry, the landscape changes rapidly and is complicated at best.  Patients are taking a more active role in their healthcare- from health and wellness, to using the internet to educate themselves and loved ones on symptoms, diagnoses, provider comparisons, benefits and contraindications of medications and more.  Tampa Bay is fast becoming a massive center for healthcare consumers AND providers.

Do you want to know what healthcare trends might impact your organization?  The AMA Healthcare Special Interest Group brings you an accomplished and knowledgeable analyst and expert in not only the field of healthcare but the Tampa Bay region, who will examine these trends and what they mean for each of our industries.

Key Takeaways:

  • Major drivers of state and federal policy changes and how they will impact the Tampa Bay market
  • Strategies you can implement based upon the impact of consumerism to Tampa Bay patients and providers
  • Tactics to publicize health care products/services to consumers, providers and employers

Jim leads the Strategic Analytics team in partnering with health care executives to make data-driven strategic decisions by understanding market dynamics and capitalizing on growth opportunities. Working with hospitals and large multi-hospital health systems across the U.S. to maximize the value of Sg2 Analytics, Jim infuses his expertise into projects that include service line and program development, ambulatory strategy, capital purchases, physician demand, cost and 30-day readmission reductions, physician recruitment strategies, volume forecasting and disease management.

Contributing to Sg2’s Business Development team, Jim provides analytics expertise during the introduction of Sg2’s tools to health care leadership teams. He often represents Sg2 at speaking engagements detailing national health care trends, ambulatory strategy development leveraging claims data and the socialization of decisions by storytelling with data.

Before joining Sg2, Jim was the assistant vice president of outreach at the Illinois State Medical Society and ISMIE Mutual Insurance Company. In this role, he was involved in managing relationships with large physician groups, advocacy, business development, marketing and governmental affairs. He also worked in the State of Illinois’ Office of the Governor.

Jim earned an MBA with concentrations in marketing and in management and organization from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He graduated with a BS in political science from Northwestern University.
